Allen Richman, senior director of research for the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, will discuss how to use technology to improve the institutional effectiveness of a college or university during a free, four-part, live webinar series starting Sept. 7, 2017 and hosted by assessment company Apperson.

Dr. Richman serves as senior director for research at the Middle States Commission on Higher Education, an accrediting organization serving higher education institutions in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. He previously served as Interim Dean of Planning, Assessment and Institutional Research at Prince George’s Community College where he oversaw the implementation of an institution-wide assessment initiative for the continuous improvement of courses, programs and the institution as a whole. He has also worked as an assistant professor and assessment coordinator for Macon State College.

· Part 3 – 2 p.m. Eastern Time Oct. 19, 2017: Institutional Research Requires a Systematic Approach to Data. Dr. Richman will discuss the changes in institutional research and how universities and colleges can stay ahead of these changes.
· Part 4 – 2 p.m. Eastern Time Nov. 8, 2017: Using Data to Improve Student Retention. Dr. Richman will discuss the shift in higher education from merely counting students to tracking their progress over time and how colleges and universities can use data to help students stay in school and earn a degree.
