Join the National Superintendent of the Year, Dr Philip Lanoue, as he explores leadership in a performance culture.

Dr Lanoue will explore…

How do you support adults and students to take learning risks? What are the conversations you are having in the building that challenge both teachers and students In new ways? How will you get to a different place where students see themselves as learners in new ways? What do you need to facilitate better instructional conversations that change beliefs and instructional practices?

Conversations are about more than a collection of data points. Leaders need to start seeing that every face has multiple data points behind it. To do this, we need conversations that come from real-time progress monitoring based on productive practice in the classroom.

Dr Lanoue has sat at the helm of the Clarke County School District in Athens, Georgia since July 2009. He is the 2015 AASA National Superintendent of the Year, and the 2015 GSBA/GSSA Georgia Superintendent of the Year. Dr Lanoue has consistently brought schools and districts to higher levels of academic achievement.
