Keynote: How vs. Why--The benefits of whole community buy-in
By this time, most everyone understands the “why” of technology in the classroom, but many don’t always have the answer to “how.” How do we engage both tech and curriculum departments in this conversation? How can schools involve parents to increase their support? How do we ensure all student voices are involved in programs like STEM? And how can schools better partner with local businesses and universities? In his keynote speech, Adam Phyall, Director of Technology & Media Services at Newton County School System (GA), will share specific examples of how his district has successfully addressed these “how” questions. He will offer tips that attendees can use to get the buy-in needed to ensure the success of tech initiatives by involving and engaging with all school stakeholders.
