NEW YORK, NY – (March 12, 2015) – The state of Tennessee has adopted instructional material by Triumph Learning, producer of critically acclaimed K-12 texts and interactive digital tools. The following instruction has been approved for grades 6–8 for mathematics: Tennessee CC Coach, Tennessee Support Coach, Performance Coach, and Waggle.
The Coach suite, founded in research and built from the ground up, provides instruction, practice, and targeted support to meet the needs of all students. The Tennessee CC Coach Mathematics series serves as the main instructional base throughout the school year. Developed for teachers whose students need additional support with more rigorous content, Tennessee Support Coach helps identify gaps in student understanding and supports key foundational skills with scaffold instruction. Performance Coach gives students rigorous and purposeful review and practice around the types of items they can expect to see on test day.
Waggle generates an online, smart practice environment to help students build critical thinking and prepare for assessments. This digital tool champions productive struggle by creating a safe and engaging space for students to explore, build confidence and accelerate learning. Waggle also offers teachers a differentiated instructional tool set so that they can easily group students and deliver recommended practice or instruction from Coach resources to groups or individual students to meet students where they are.
“We are pleased to provide the Coach suite and Waggle to districts across Tennessee for mathematics,” said Aoife Dempsey, chief technology officer for Triumph Learning. “Our Waggle and Coach solutions work together as a seamless blended learning solution to help students in Tennessee achieve success beyond the test.”
Implementation guides integrate Coach resources and Waggle with a day-by-day plan that saves teachers time.
