GREENVILLE, Wisconsin – April 22, 2015 – EPS Literacy and Intervention, a division of School Specialty (OTCQB: SCOO), today announced the 2015 S.P.I.R.E.® Super Star Awards and the Academy Star Awards, both of which recognize classroom stars who have experienced tremendous success utilizing S.P.I.R.E., Academy of READING®, or Academy of MATH®, three of EPS’ most popular intervention programs.

The Third Annual S.P.I.R.E Super Star of the Year Award shines a spotlight on students who used the intervention program to overcome significant challenges to improve their reading proficiency. The S.P.I.R.E. Teacher of the Year Award recognizes teachers for creatively incorporating S.P.I.R.E. into the classroom and going above and beyond to help their students develop key reading skills.

The Ninth Annual Academy Star Student of the Year Awards celebrates a struggling reader and a student with math challenges who use the Academy programs to significantly improve their reading or math proficiency. The Academy Teacher of Excellence applauds educators who have helped their students by utilizing a diverse set of intervention strategies, including at least one Academy program.

NEW ORLEANS – Nov. 6, 2013 - According to the International Dyslexia Association (IDA), dyslexia affects one in 10 individuals. With appropriate teaching methods, students with dyslexia can achieve their full academic potential. Ten passionate educators who teach dyslexic students are attending the IDA’s 64th Annual Conference in New Orleans this week as recipients of the 2013 Robert G. and Eleanor T. Hall Memorial Scholarships, sponsored by EPS Literacy and Intervention, a division of School Specialty. Created to honor the founder of EPS and his wife, Eleanor T. Hall, these scholarships reward exemplary educators for the innovative instructional strategies they use to help their dyslexic students achieve at the highest levels.
