MADISON, Wis. (June 2, 2015) – C. Blohm & Associates, Inc.(CB&A), a Monona-based public relations firm specializing in visibility campaigns for the education and special needs industries, has been awarded a Dane County Small Business Award by the Wisconsin School of Business' Small Business Development Center. The agency will be honored at an awards breakfast June 4.

Now in its 33rd year, the Dane County Small Business Awards program annually recognizes 10 exceptional businesses that maintain a responsible, rewarding workplace environment and make significant contributions to their communities.

“Each employee at CB&A holds a passion for helping others, and that commitment carries over from our everyday PR work to our everyday lives,” said Charlene Blohm, founder and president of CB&A. “We’re honored to be recognized for our record of success in Dane County, as well as our unwavering dedication to creating a healthy work environment and bettering our community.”

For more than two decades, CB&A has worked to raise the visibility of national and international education technology companies. The agency became a trailblazer two years ago by establishing a Special Needs Division, the first of its kind in public relations. Since relocating from Texas to Wisconsin in 2004, CB&A has experienced tremendous growth in both opportunities and employment. On average, the agency adds one to two PR professionals to its team each year.

CB&A has developed a presence in the Dane County community by always looking for ways to give back. The team frequently rings bells for the Salvation Army, reads to students at local schools as part of Read Across America and promotes the United Way’s Second Harvest campaign. Over the past year, team members also have volunteered at Madison food banks, donated time to hospice care, participated in Komen breast cancer races, and presented to local colleges and universities on behalf of the Public Relations Society of America. CB&A recently hosted its first Young Professionals Night, an educational open house for college students interested in public relations.

Blohm credits much of CB&A’s success to its supportive workplace culture, which champions teamwork, creativity and productivity. The agency invests in its employees, promoting from within and providing budgets for professional development opportunities, while always acknowledging accomplishments and celebrating personal life events.
