Washington, D.C. (Nov. 5, 2015) – The Ed Tech Industry Network (ETIN) of Software and Information Industry Association (SIIA), today announced that it will hold the Education Business Forum (EBF), the leading business and finance conference for the K-12 and postsecondary education technology markets, Dec. 8-9 at the AMA Executive Conference Center in New York City.
The annual conference will bring together senior management teams of education software companies, platform technology firms, financial analysts, solution providers and distributors, publishers, financial analysts, private equity firms and venture capitalists. Participants will discuss new business models and how to leverage shifts in the digital learning space, in addition to sharing knowledge about new markets, growth in financial investment and new paths to revenue and profit.
The conference starts with roundtable sessions designed to facilitate lively, strategic discussion among participants. Industry experts will give attendees an overview, share crucial market information, guide a discussion and answer questions. Roundtable sessions include:
·Distribution Strategies for Getting Ed Tech Tools to Market
·Reincarnation of the LMS: What’s Happening in that Market?
·Follow the Money - Investing Globally to Grow the Value of Your Company
·What You Need to Know about Building, Marketing and Selling Products for Special Needs Students
Additionally, the 10 entrepreneur finalists in SIIA’s Innovation Incubator Program will present their innovative learning technologies in the competition for the “Most Innovative” or “Most Likely to Succeed” award. The program began in 2006, and has provided mentorship for dozens of successful products and companies in their efforts to improve education through the use of software, digital content and related technologies. Attendees will then have the opportunity to meet with them individually during the Innovation Showcase and Opening Reception that immediately follows.
Wednesday morning features plenary sessions so attendees can learn about the early market leaders and emerging ‘rock star’ companies in the ed tech market. Each company has 10 minutes on the stage to highlight their strategic and financial goals, their interest in the education market and how they will partner with participants in the conference. The one plenary panel will describe the areas of opportunities that they see in the market – from the perspective of an angel, seed/early stage and later stage investors.
The afternoon starts with the One-to-One Business Connections meetings, scheduled by SIIA staff, with the support of its partner Educational Systemics. These fast-paced exchanges helps pave the way for increased capital, revenue and strategic alliances between participants.
There are also interactive panels and more roundtables that focus on topics such as:
·What Are the Metrics that Count?
·Don’t Make Me Change What I Already Do
·Making a Difference to Users
·Building Business Strategies for your Strengths
·Finding Innovative Partners to Leapfrog your Competition
·Creating a Culture of Privacy within your Company
A closing plenary session will feature the announcement of the Innovation Incubator Awards and highlight the perspectives of K-20 educators and a global financial expert.
Attendees of EBF can use the mobile conference app, designed for this conference, to set up meetings while at the conference, create a customized schedule, view the attendees list among other features. The new venue and more open schedule offers the opportunity for participants to find the time and place to do the deals, for which this conference is known.
