St. Charles, Mo. (Nov. 10, 2015) – To assist underserved districts in dramatically improving their elementary mathematics instruction, ORIGO Education announces a new grant initiative that will award $100,000 in products and services to deserving districts.

“This new grant initiative will give the opportunity to a district that may not otherwise have gotten to develop its math curriculum under the Common Core,” said Melisa Bartlett, general manger of ORIGO Education. “The grants will be awarded to districts demonstrating the greatest need, strategic plan, and a serious commitment to improving educational outcomes.”

Half of the endowment will be earmarked for the Innovation Improvement Grant and the other half is allotted to the Matching Assistance Grant. Applications are judged on the potential to produce results and the vision necessary to reach the goals. Resources will be awarded for one school year to pilot the elementary mathematics curriculum ORIGO Stepping Stones.

Applications must strive to meet or exceed all of the following goals:

• Improving elementary mathematics instruction

• Advancing teaching pedagogy

• Increasing students mathematics knowledge and raising testing scores

• Engaging and exciting students in the classroom

• Closing the achievement gap

Grant applications will be accepted from Nov. 1, 2015 through April 30, 2016. The winners will be announced on June 3, 2016. An abstract proposal detailing the district’s goals, strategy, and how the funding will be used is required with the submission.
