Barrington, NH – December 3, 2015 – Computer Resources LLC, developer of the MMS Student Information Platform for K-12 schools, and long-time partner Focal Tech, Inc. have launched a Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant online payment portal to answer a long-standing need of parents to manage school fees online. The new offering gives parents an easy option to manage and complete student- and school-related payment transactions – such as fees for tuition, lunch, sports, and miscellaneous activities – using the MMS platform.

“The new payment portal provides parents with an intuitive, convenient, and secure way to manage student expenditures and school fees,” said Michael Bronder, group vice president and managing director of Computer Resources LLC. “Parents appreciate schools that make it simple to pay student fees, and putting a secure payment portal online right within our popular Parent Portal is as easy as it can be.”

Schools can benefit from online payments in several ways – they reduce paperwork and increase the accuracy of back-office bookkeeping, as well as make it easy for parents to complete transactions thus increasing the timeliness of payments. Additionally, offering a solution that includes payment plans and flexible payment types benefit parents while eliminating confusing credit card processing fees which helps control costs for the school.

The MMS Payment Portal allows schools to configure fee-processing to best support the needs of its parents, allowing payments via credit card, debit, or electronic check (ACH). In addition, schools can set up flexible, extended payment plans. The portal also provides each school or district with its own merchant account(s) to ensure that payments are made available almost immediately.

“We have a long-standing relationship with Computer Resources as they actually helped us launch our services in education,” said Steve Ramsey, CEO of Focal Tech, Inc., creator of LunchTime cafeteria management software, which is integrated into the MMS platform. “We are now looking forward to helping Computer Resources deliver a seamless payment processing system that will allow their parents to pay for all types of expenditures and better stay on top of their child’s school activity expenses.”

Computer Resources’ comprehensive MMS student information platform provides K-12 districts with the services they need in order to run successful schools, including data management, dashboards and reporting, Common Core requirements, competencies, attendance, scheduling, grade books, discipline, health, fee tracking, food service, registrations, and more. The platform’s wide range of tools and services help schools stay organized and focused on student and teacher performance. The platform additionally gives teachers, administrators, parents, and students access to the data and resources necessary to ensure that everyone has what they need to create outstanding educational experiences.
