Stepping Stones math curriculum and The Think Tanks earn honors

St. Charles, MO. (Dec. 10, 2015) – ORIGO Education earned two Academics’ Choice Awards for its math curriculum ORIGO Stepping Stones and The Think Tanks. Stepping Stones won distinction in the Smart Book Category, and The Think Tanks was honored in the Brain Toy Category.

“Leading education experts continue recognizing ORIGO and the effectiveness of our teaching materials,” said James Burnett, President of ORIGO Education. “These achievements further confirm what more than 100 school districts, and over 450,000 students across the U.S. know: Stepping Stones and The Think Tanks are essential tools for education.”

Stepping Stones is a comprehensive, web-based, core mathematics curriculum for grades K–5. Written by a team of experts, Stepping Stones delivers multiple ways to differentiate math instruction, offers Common Core aligned resources and develops students’ high-order math skills. The online math curriculum is used in more than 100 districts serving 450,000 students in the United States. Educators reviewing the Stepping Stones cited the curriculum’s ability to differentiate instruction as a key benefit.

The Think Tanks feature activity cards to help students develop the ability to solve problems and to think, reason and work mathematically. The cards provide instruction for numbers and operations, algebra, geometry, measurement, statistics and probability. Reviewers highlighted how the cards encouraged students to problem solve within a mathematical framework.

Academics' Choice Award help parents and educators validate claims such as "critical thinking" and "educational toy" with a qualified, scientific and objective approach to evaluation. It is the only international awards company designed to bring increased recognition to publishers, manufacturers, independent authors and developers that aim to stimulate cognitive development. A panel of highly qualified academics, parents, teachers, homeschoolers and children evaluate products based on educational benefits such as higher-order thinking skills, character building, creative play, durability and originality.
