EXTENDING ITS REACH: THE VIRTUAL HIGH SCHOOL APPOINTS DIRECTOR, GLOBAL PROGRAMS AND SERVICES TO SUPPORT NEEDS OF INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Boston — Feb. 1, 2016 — In an effort to connect international students to online learning opportunities in the US, the Virtual High School (VHS, Inc.), a nonprofit empowering schools with the industry’s best online learning programs, announced today that it has selected Xuan You as its new Director, Global Programs and Services.

Boston — Feb. 1, 2016 — In an effort to connect international students to online learning opportunities in the US, the Virtual High School (VHS, Inc.), a nonprofit empowering schools with the industry’s best online learning programs, announced today that it has selected Xuan You as its new Director, Global Programs and Services.

“Xuan brings a proven background in managing international projects and building strategic partnerships throughout Asia, the US and Europe,” said Carol Ribeiro, President and CEO of VHS.
“Her expertise will help expand our virtual learning offerings, both here in the US and globally.”

“Collaboration is the nucleus of VHS’s learning model, and this new position provides me the golden opportunity to take the practice of collaboration to a whole new level,” said You. “I look forward to working in tandem with other organizations, forming partnerships with industry experts and expanding our global footprint where we currently have students working online and virtually.”

The VHS mission is to provide students with access to high-quality online and blended learning experiences, while supporting educators with the professional development and services needed to provide effective 21st century education for every student. VHS partner schools have access to a wide range of core, elective, credit recovery and AP® courses that inspire, ignite, and deepen learning. For students, VHS helps develop independent learning skills, explore college majors and careers, earn credit, and participate in global classrooms.

You joins VHS from Gale International where she managed China operations. Prior to that she worked at MIT where she lectured and led projects, including work with UNICEF. You holds a Master of Science: Water Resource Engineering and Management from Stuttgart University, Germany and a Bachelor of Environmental Engineering from Tongji University, China.
