Online Program for K-5 Learners Built on Common Core Learning Progressions

BALTIMORE – Oct. 16, 2013 – Today at the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Regional Conference, EPS Literacy and Intervention, a division of School Specialty, and CSL Associates, Inc., unveiled content and learning management updates to MathCoach® Interactive, an online math program designed to help students in grades K-5 master the Common Core State Standards (CCSS).

Built on the CCSS Learning Progressions, MathCoach Interactive helps elementary school students develop a deep conceptual and procedural understanding of math. The program offers a blend of instructional tools, interactive lessons, virtual manipulatives, adaptive independent practice, games and printable worksheets—so that students follow individualized learning paths adapted to their math needs and skill levels.

MathCoach Interactive offers teachers a powerful program for ensuring that elementary students develop the understanding of mathematical concepts requisite to meet and exceed the requirements of the Common Core State Standards,” said Rick Holden, President of EPS Literacy and Intervention.

The new release of MatchCoach Interactive makes it even easier for teachers to put students on the path to success. With a single click of the mouse, they can now assign whole modules with expanded learning content including guided and independent practice; interactive exercise sets and engaging games; video instruction; and more.

Also new to MathCoach Interactive is additional content with enhanced visual and auditory appeal, including new online lessons, interactive exercise sets and games. Many of these added lessons are based on real-world situations and feature photo art to engage students. And to keep students motivated and excited about learning, MathCoach Interactive offers them fun affirmations as they make progress.

Christine Losq, founder of CSL Associates and creator of MathCoachInteractive, said, “Every enhancement that we make to MathCoach Interactive is focused on providing an engaging and personalized environment for learning that is aligned directly to the Common Core Learning Progressions.”
