Boston — March 3, 2016 — In recent years, accordingly to the National Center for Education Statistics (NCES), more and more school districts reported using distance learning, most of it online; in some instances, with more than 60 percent of those classes taken for credit recovery. And while that trend continues, understanding all the options that are available to districts and students regarding credit recovery can be daunting. To discuss the myriad options available to help students who struggle in a traditional classroom, have fallen behind in their work, or have missed school due to illness or personal issues, The Virtual High School (VHS Inc.) will present a free, 30-minute webinar on Thursday, March 10 at noon ET. Those interested in attending can do so by registering athttp://bit.ly/24B2hDc.

Cheryl Rosenberg, Regional Sales Manager atVHS, will host the webinar, helping educators gain insight into what type of credit recovery offering will best serve their students. She will discuss three options:

·Flexible courses for self-paced, facilitated classes in which students progress through the coursework at their own pace, potentially completing their studies earlier or later than the assigned course end date.

·Summer school options in which students spend approximately 10 hours a week completing assignments, working together on projects, and contributing to online discussions.

·Customized solutions in which VHS exclusively designs, manages and facilitates credit recovery courses to help a school or district comply with district or state mandates, respectively, as well as support student needs.
