Sergeant Laboratories announced today the ‘Penalty Box' for educational filtering is now included with AristotleInsight::K12 for both traditional computers and Chromebooks. AristotleInsight::K12 refocuses CIPA compliance from enforcement to education by including advanced features for creating teachable moments such as the ‘Penalty Box.’
“In the past, filtering technologies for meeting CIPA requirements have taken a policy or enforcer approach. Because of this, the solutions have been expensive, difficult to implement, and time consuming to manage. The result being many schools have given up on achieving CIPA compliance at the risk of future funding,” stated Director of Technology David Losen. “A different approach is AristotleInsight::K12’s education focused technology. In particular, the ‘Penalty Box’ feature allows students to spend an allotted amount of time in a white listed penalty box. This teaches outcomes and reduces time consuming enforcement of Acceptable Use Policies.”
AristotleInsight::K12 has long been the price-value partner for K12 environments focused on creative, accountable, and safe technology use. By combining advanced filtering with AristotleInsight::K12’s geo-location, forensic auditing, and utilization reporting capabilities, AristotleInsight::K12 becomes the sole solution needed for achieving complete CIPA compliance and teaching digital citizenship.
The education based ‘Penalty Box’ will be included as part of a free update for existing customers. AristotleInsight::K12 is implemented nation-wide to provide student visibility, real-time alerts on traditional PCs and Chromebooks, and now filtering, in order to help educators create teachable moments and promote digital citizenship.
Sergeant Laboratories builds sophisticated software that provides straightforward solutions to complicated IT problems. Over fifteen years ago, Sergeant Laboratories engineers were asked, “What are our computers actually being used for?” Answering that question has proven critical to help K12 environments successfully leverage the benefits of technology in schools.
