Boston, MA – March 10, 2016— itslearning, maker of the personalized learning management platform of the same name, today released “Going Digital: A Curriculum Management Playbook,” a guide to creating a fully integrated curriculum management system using the cloud-based platform. The eBookprovides educators with strategies, case studies and insights for connecting courses, resources and assessments with common standards and learning objects.

“According to the Consortium for School Networking’s 2015 IT Leadership Survey, 84 percent of school technology officials expect that at least half of their instructional materials will be digitally based within three years,” said itslearning vice president of sales and marketing, Matt Dobosh. “For many schools and districts, a digital curriculum means dealing with disparate systems like intranets and document sharing tools as well as an LMS. We published this ebook as a practical guide to understanding the inherent benefits of an integrated system and show them how to use itslearning to achieve that integration.”

The eBook highlights four successful approaches used by different districts to create a unique curriculum management solution tailored specifically for their district’s vision, goals, philosophy and infrastructure:

·Mass migration

·Jump started and crowd sourced

·Focused best practice

·Universal Design for Learning

In all four examples, itslearning worked closely with the district to ensure the curriculum management solution was fully embedded in their district-wide LMS configuration.

The eBook also includes in-depth case studies that show how the districts streamlined and aligned their curriculum management processes to ensure equitable and dynamic access to resources. Additionally, readers will see guidelines on what to consider when selecting a contemporary LMS as well as a checklist for getting started with curriculum management.

The itslearning LMS includes in-built curriculum management capabilities that allows districts to plan, align and manage instructional assets from publishers, open educational resources and internal staff in one central library. This process saves not only time but also promotes best practices by allowing the sharing of course templates and planners across the district. This ensures all teaching objects across a district are aligned, which enables teachers to accurately measure and compare student progress and performance. As a result, they can personalize their teaching by selecting resources that cater to their students’ differing needs. And, because itslearning integrates or replaces many of a school’s other IT systems, it gives teachers and parents one interface and login for all their essential school data and information.

Dobosh concluded, “itslearning is really the next-generation learning platform that goes beyond the traditional learning management system (LMS) by allowing educators to easily plan and manage their curriculum so they can focus their energies on personalized learning to drive improved academic outcomes for every student.”
