Newton, MA – March 17, 2016—Although Universal Design for Learning (UDL) has been a defined education practice since the 1990s, many educators still don’t completely understand what it is or whom it is for. Adding to the confusion, the Every Student Succeeds Act recently passed by Congress includes a clear endorsement of UDL, but few details as to how funding options can be used to support UDL implementations.
On Thursday, March 24 at 2p EDT, two technology leaders from school districts deeply committed to UDL programs will answer these questions and more in a webinar for K-12 educators and administrators. Mike Jamerson, director of technology for Bartholomew Consolidated School District (IN) and Pete Just, chief technology officer of the Metropolitan School District of Wayne Township (IN) will discuss the new law and technology’s role in supporting UDL and personalized learning within their districts. They will also respond to questions from webinar participants. The webinar is free, but registration is required. For more information go to: http://info.itslearning.net/ESSAandUDL.html
