LUBBOCK, TX (March 30, 2016) – Using grant funds received from the California Career Pathways Trust to expand and improve current curriculum and Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs, CEV Multimedia announces that the Central Region Agriculture Education Career Pathway Consortium will incorporate iCEV into high school and college agriculture science programs. The grant allocation will help expand existing CTE programs, and offer additional courses for students seeking alternative career and college pathways.
“Through the implementation of this grant, Agriculture Pathway instructors will be able to provide training to our students using new equipment while utilizing a modern curriculum from iCEV to supplement classroom instruction for a wide array of agriculture careers, preparing them for the next steps in their future,”said Mark Anglin, director for the Central Region Agriculture Education Career Pathway Consortium. “The funds provide an invaluable opportunity for our students to become highly qualified in their program of study and prospective careers through practical learning experiences and industry-backed certifications.”
The Central Region Agriculture Education Career Pathway Consortium will oversee the allocation of grant funds to 36 high schools and three community colleges in the region, which equates to $15 million in funding. Grant funds will strengthen and add more course options to the agriculture science curriculum, upgrade to industry-standard equipment for students to use and help create opportunities for students to use what they learn in classroom in the real world through internships, job shadowing and industry-backed certification programs.
“With the distribution of the grant money to the Central Region of California, more students will have access to the curriculum and materials needed to develop highly sought after skills in agriculture science and other career pathways,” said Dusty Moore, iCEV president. “Through the use of iCEV, students will continue to be well-equipped as they continue their training prior to entering the modern workforce.”
The California Central Region is the latest region in the state to incorporate iCEV as a result of the grant money awarded by the California Career Pathways Trust. The region joins the South Coast and North Coast Regions, which received $5.7 million and $4.65 million, respectively.
iCEV offers practical, interactive learning with professional demonstrations to prepare students for postsecondary education and high-skill, high-demand careers. Educators can quickly monitor and track students directly through the platform’s interactive lessons and assessments. Through iCEV, students can also enhance their career training by earning industry-backed certifications.
