WASHINGTON (April 7, 2016) –– The Education Technology Industry Network (ETIN) of the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) announces it has expanded to include all member companies of the Education Industry Association (EIA), effective immediately. All current and recent EIA members are now members of ETIN. Terms of the agreement are not being disclosed.

Robert Lytle, Managing Director and Co-Head of Education at Parthenon-EY, will join the ETIN Board of Directors as part of the agreement. Lytle and Jim Giovannini, former executive director of EIA, have joined the Steering Committee for the Education Industry Symposium, held July 25-27 in Denver.

“We're looking forward to incorporating the EIA members and their interests into the ETIN conferences, webinars, committees, initiatives and programs,” said SIIA President Ken Wasch.

The consolidation helps to unify vendor voices and better support companies serving K-20 education institutions, according to ETIN Vice President and Managing Director Karen Billings. “The education industry continues to mature as digital publishers join forces for common causes,” Billings said. “ETIN is uniquely positioned to provide the market intelligence, advocacy and connections that help vendors thrive in their mission to enhance education in schools across the U.S. and abroad.”

ETIN member benefits include:

·Building leadership credentials

·Better strategies for operational efficiencies

·Market intelligence

·Professional development

·Executive connections

·Financing and exits

·Branding and visibility

·Legal and regulatory protection

Since 1990, EIA has worked to expand business opportunities for education entrepreneurs of all sizes in preK-12 markets. Benefits included federal-state-local advocacy, public relations support, professional development and peer-to-peer networking. These member benefits will be strengthened and broadened as part of ETIN, according to Giovannini.

“This is a positive change for EIA members, many of whom have already expressed their support and excitement,” Giovannini said. “After 26 years, the time is right for a transformation of EIA.”
