LAKEWOOD, N.J. – July 11, 2016 – Achieve3000®, the leading literacy solution in blended, differentiated learning programs today, announced that its literacy solutions KidBizPro® for grades 2-5, TeenBizPro® for grades 6-8, and EmpowerPro® for grades 9-12 have been named Best of Show by NewBay Media publications, Tech & Learning, at ISTE 2016. Achieve3000’s Pro suite of products was one of dozens of products evaluated at the International Society for Technology in Education’s (ISTE) annual conference, which took place June 26-29 in Denver, Colo.
Specializing in cloud-based, differentiated learning solutions for Pre-K through Grade 12 as well as adult learners, Achieve3000 has helped millions of students worldwide to improve their reading and writing skills, master increasingly rigorous academic standards, and prepare for high-stakes assessments.
"We believe that improving literacy for all learners is the key to unlocking success in school, college, and career as well as engaging students in learning,” said Saki Dodelson, CEO and founder of Achieve3000. “For the past 15 years, Achieve3000 has been continuously committed to providing its customers with the most innovative and advanced literacy solutions. By reaching kids at their precise reading levels – in English or Spanish – we have been able to impact double and even triple expected reading gains in just one year. We are honored to be awarded this prestigious distinction by Tech & Learning, cementing our position as the leading provider of blended, differentiated instruction.”
For the third year, Tech & Learning presented its eminent awards program honoring great products at ISTE. Winners were selected by an anonymous panel of educator judges, who scoured the exhibit hall floor during what has become the largest education technology conference in North America. The judges rated their impressions on a sliding scale, evaluating areas such as quality and effectiveness, ease of use, and creative use of technology. They also solicited in-person demonstrations to decide which solutions will have the most impact in the classroom and are deserving of Best of Show distinction. The winners will be featured in the August issue of Tech & Learning.
Achieve3000’s family of Pro literacy solutions (KidBizPro® for grades 2-5, TeenBizPro® for grades 6-8, and EmpowerPro® for grades 9-12) empowers all students to succeed in mixed-ability classrooms. By differentiating the same grade-appropriate content at 12 reading levels in English and 7 in Spanish, and providing robust scaffolds for struggling students and English language learners, Pro extends teachers’ reach without increasing workloads or time demands. At the same time, Achieve3000’s proprietary adaptive content system continually monitors each student’s reading performance and automatically increases the level of text complexity when it detects that an individual is ready for more challenge, steadily moving students up level by level. In fact, this methodology has been proven to accelerate student learning, doubling or even tripling expected reading gains when used as little as twice a week.
With a focus on science and social studies and an archive of more than 10,000 nonfiction articles, Pro also teaches students the disciplinary knowledge and academic vocabulary they need to succeed across the entire curriculum. Lessons give students unmatched access to content-area instruction by providing a high-interest article on a contemporary topic and a “Dig Deeper” background text to unlock understanding, all written at a student’s individual Lexile® reading level. Students then “stretch” their skills by reading a version of the same article written with grade-level text complexity, building the stamina and strength they need to read the complex informational text required for college and career readiness. Achieve3000’s mobile apps mean students can complete lessons anytime, anywhere, and on any device – even without an internet connection. Plus, with new lessons added weekly, the program’s standards-aligned strategic curriculum gives educators both the content-area topics and literacy scaffolds needed to help students with strategy development, building academic vocabulary, critical thinking, and evidence-based writing skills.
For teachers and administrators, Achieve3000’s Pro provides data where, when, and how they need it:
·In the classroom – so diagnostic data can enable individualized intervention and remediation based on a given student’s needs
·In real time – so teachers can map instruction to a student’s pace and progress
·In easy-to-read visual reports – so information is easily applicable
·In aggregated/disaggregated reports – so administrators gain holistic and drill-down data views to drive school- and district-wide improvement
Each Pro solution is also available in 50 customized State Editions, as well as international versions, to help students meet local academic standards, prepare for high-stakes assessments, and get on track for college and career success.
