WISCONSIN RAPIDS, Wis. (August 30, 2016) – Renaissance®, the leader in K12 learning analytics, announced the addition of three new executives who have been brought onboard to support the company’s growth momentum: Senior Vice President of International Erez Tocker, Chief Product Officer Marc Caltabiano and Chief Strategy Officer Julian Lighton.

Tocker’s role is to oversee and build out Renaissance’s international business, with the goal to create a scalable, robust international organization, building upon an already successful business in the UK and existing operations in Australia and Korea. He joins Renaissance after 10 years at Kaplan, Inc., where he most recently held the role of senior vice president, new business initiatives. Tocker also served as managing director of the Language Travel business unit of Kaplan International Colleges, and previously worked for the UK-based Oxford English Centre, where he was responsible for establishing the company’s Chinese operation in Beijing. He will be based in Renaissance’s London office.
In his role, Caltabiano is responsible for defining the product strategy, product requirements and user experience for Renaissance’s products and services, with the goal of continuing to deliver innovative products that help educators improve student outcomes. He has a record of delivering first-to-market, award-winning products and growing new businesses at leading technology companies. He most recently served as the vice president of product and vice president of strategy at TripAdvisor, helping the company exceed $1 billion in revenue and more than 350 million unique monthly users globally. Prior to his work at TripAdvisor, Caltabiano was senior vice president of marketing and products at Cartera Commerce Inc., a company that provides solutions for the leading banks, retailers and airlines that link retail offers to payments. Caltabiano has also held product leadership roles at high-growth companies including KNOVA Software and Siebel Systems. He will be based in Renaissance’s San Francisco office.
Lighton has more than 25 years of experience leading the creation and execution of highly successful corporate, business unit and new market strategies and is a recognized industry expert on technology in emerging markets, the future of digital entertainment and information services and analytics. Before joining Renaissance, Lighton ran a successful Silicon Valley-based investment and consulting company, serving high-tech focused venture capital and private equity firms. In the past, he led executive teams in the turnaround of three separate, publicly-listed mid-cap companies: Outerwall Inc., Rovi Corporation and Neustar, Inc. as their chief strategy officer and head of corporate development. He has also held senior executive, general management and functional leadership positions with Cisco Systems, Inc., Hitachi, Ltd., McKinsey & Company, and Cambridge Technology Partners. Based out of Renaissance’s San Francisco office, Lighton’s responsibilities include strategy, planning and corporate development, emphasizing both organic growth initiatives and investments and acquisitions.
