BEAVERTON, Oregon, September 7, 2016 — Vernier Software & Technology’s LabQuest Stream™ was named a winner of Tech & Learning’s ISTE 2016 Best of Show Awards, which recognizes products and services that show the greatest promise according to the country's most tech-savvy educators. The data-collection interface for science and STEM education was chosen based on its quality, effectiveness, ease of use, and creative use of technology.

The awards program, which is now in its third year, highlights game-changing technology exhibited at ISTE, the annual premier education technology conference. After rating their impressions of the technologies using a sliding scale, the judges meet in person to decide which products will have the most impact in the classroom and are deserving of the Best of Show recognition.

“LabQuest Stream is versatile technology that expands the possibilities for hands-on data collection by leveraging a range of mobile devices and Vernier’s expansive collection of sensors,” said John Wheeler, CEO of Vernier Software & Technology. “With so many innovative technologies on the market today, it is a great honor for LabQuest Stream to be recognized as the best of the best for its ability to impact teaching and learning in science classrooms.”

LabQuest Stream, a wireless and USB sensor interface, allows students to collect scientific data from multiple sensors with an iOS or Android™ mobile device, Chromebook™, or computer. It provides educators the freedom and flexibility to collect data using a wide variety of computing platforms, and it is compatible with more than 50 Vernier sensors.

Supported software includes Vernier Graphical Analysis™ apps, Logger Pro, and Logger Lite. The interface’s five sensor ports support a wide array of Vernier sensors for conducting multi-variable experiments and data-logging activities. Students can use LabQuest Stream to collect up to 10,000 samples per second using wireless functionality or up to 100,000 samples per second when using USB connectivity.
