Pensacola, Fla. (Nov. 29, 2016) — In a growing school system, educators must find innovative solutions to streamline everyday instructional and administrative tasks. To simplify their report card process and other school communications, Lighthouse Private Christian Academy recently rolled out Twine, an integrated LMS designed specifically for K-12 private schools.

Lighthouse Private Christian Academy is located in Florida and caters to an expanding student population. Prior to adopting Twine, Pam Miller, principal of the College Prep campus, spent on average 18 hours per quarter creating report cards by hand.

“Because of our growth at the end of the 2015-16 school year, we knew that we had to find a tool that would make gathering student information easier,” said Miller. “I went from spending 18 hours on report cards each quarter to between two and three hours. The Twine platform also has functionalities like teacher-parent communication and calendars that make it possible for us to do everything in one place.”

Built to support educational and administrative needs in private schools, Twine provides an easily accessible hub for all student information. All members of the school community can track items such as attendance, grades, lessons, schedule, assignments and more. Twine requires no technical staff time to implement, making it easy for small private schools to deploy.

“Generating report cards is a tremendous undertaking for any school – small or large – and takes teachers a significant amount of time to input grades by hand,” said Gary Falcon, president and founder of Twine. “As an LMS solution, Twine aims to streamline administrative tasks like report cards for teachers, and give them more time to focus on teaching and interacting with their students once grades are submitted.”

Miller noted that as faculty and staff continue to learn how to use the Twine platform, the time it takes to track attendance and grades will only continue to diminish. As the school year progresses, parents, students and teachers will have the opportunity to use all of Twine’s features to inform intervention plans and stay connected to everything going on in the classroom.
