Boston Feb. 11, 2014 — Leading learning management provider itslearning Inc. (www.itslearning.net) has named David Sample as its sales and marketing director and Georgia Moss as the field sales manager for the company’s Texas market.

Sample brings with him more than 25 years of sales and executive management experience at a variety of different enterprise software companies. Prior to joining itslearning, he was the executive vice president of sales at InnoCentive Inc., a global leader in crowdsourcing innovation problems. Before that, Sample was chief commercial officer for Edutech, a leading provider of education solutions that enable academic institutions and corporate organizations to improve performance. Earlier, Sample served as senior vice president of global sales with Blackboard for three and a half years.

Sample spent most of his career at Hyperion Solutions Corporation where he served as senior vice president of sales, leading both North American sales and international operations. During his tenure at Hyperion, the corporation’s annual revenue grew from $1 million to more than $250 million, and he built one of the premier sales forces in the software industry. Sample’s expertise is rooted in education; before Hyperion he worked for seven years as a high school teacher, coach and administrator.

A 14-year sales veteran, Moss worked with Pearson Education’s Prentice Hall publishing division and Cengage Learning’s flagship publishing branch, Heinle, before joining itslearning’s Texas sales team. She held several positions at Prentice Hall, from sales representative to account general manager, and during her tenure increased the company’s profit margin from 68 percent to 247 percent and beyond. Moss served as senior consultant for Heinle, delivering ESL/ELL software and textbooks to the K-12 and college markets. Before moving into sales, Moss was a teacher in the Houston Independent School District from 1988 to 1999, serving an Advanced Placement/Honors/Pre-International Baccalaureate Language Arts teacher and as a department chairwoman.

“David’s and Georgia’s abilities make both of them a great fit with our growth trajectory,” said itslearning Chief Executive Officer, Travis Willard. “Both have field experience in the K-12 classroom, and as a result, both bring a passion for education that I believe is critical to our district partners. Additionally, David and Georgia have proved their capability to drive sales at the corporate and field level, respectively, and their mix of expertise and skills will enhance our ongoing mission of addressing the needs of teachers so that those teachers are better able to address the needs of students.”
