Chicago IL – Nov. 2, 2017 CDI Computer Dealers announces the launch of Google Learning Bundles: four carefully-vetted product suites that enable K-12 institutions to maximize the benefits of Chrome-based learning. The Google Learning Bundles focus on the areas of creativity, media literacy, STEM, and active listening to help educators begin teaching with the devices from day one.

Chromebooks have become the digital learning device of choice for schools and CDI has already deployed more than 270,000 units. These versatile and cost-effective devices provide unprecedented learning opportunities; however, navigating the seemingly endless choice of apps and tools is often overwhelming for educators. The Google Learning Bundles simplify this process.

“CDI works with more than 2,000 districts each year and we understand they need a comprehensive range of solutions that go beyond devices,” said Glenn Collins, Vice President of Mobile Computing at CDI. “Along with professional development and other services, we are offering these Google Learning Bundles to our education clients so they can better leverage the Chrome ecosystem.”

The products included in the Google Learning Bundles have been researched and vetted by the experts at Google for Education, with whom CDI has a long-standing partnership. To make these apps accessible to a wide range of school districts, Google worked with Chromebook partners to create a special price when the apps are purchased as a bundle.

The Learning Bundles fall into four distinct categories:

Creative Apps: This bundle includes the Explain Everything, Soundtrap, and WeVideo apps which allow teachers to engage their students in innovative ways in the classroom. With this bundle, students can easily animate, record, annotate, collaborate, and explore ideas to make music online and collaboratively edit video in the cloud.

Media Literacy Apps: The two apps in this bundle, Frontier and Scrible, are designed to help students evaluate and think critically about the information they see online. An app from eSpark Learning teaches critical thinking about media through reading and writing lessons for students in grades three through eight. Scrible is a research platform enabling students to curate, annotate and collaborate on authentic online sources such as news articles and blog posts.

STEM Tools: This bundle consists of a Dremel 3D40 3D Printer and littleBits. Both tools can be integrated in classrooms to help students become makers and inventors. The 3D printer supports design tools such as Tinkercad and BlocksCAD that help students create three-dimensional versions of just about anything. The littleBits Code Kit combines block-based visual coding, powered by Google’s Blockly, with programmable physical “bits” that are electronic color-coded building blocks that snap together with magnets.

Active Listening Apps: With Listenwise and Fluency Tutor, teachers can integrate active listening into classrooms and lessons, across a range of grades and subjects.Listenwise is a collection of podcasts and public radio stories featuring NPR content that help improve students’ listening comprehension skills. Fluency Tutor lets students record themselves reading di?erent types of texts, like web content and Google Docs, and then send their recordings to their teacher for feedback.

To help introduce these bundles to educators, CDI hosted a series of webinarsco-hosted by Google for Education. The webinars described in detail the individual products in each learning bundle. These webinars are recorded and available on demand.
