NEW YORK (Nov. 8, 2017) – StudySync, powered by BookheadEd Learning, LLC, now offers more than 100 Spanish titles in its digital library. In addition to 40 Spanish versions of English titles, the collection of Spanish titles includes over 60 authentic Spanish-language texts representing Latin American, Latino and Peninsular literature, with authors from more than 20 countries.

With these new offerings, ELA instructors can use Spanish versions of English library items as scaffolds for English language learners. The instructors in bilingual education programs can use Spanish and English library items to supplement their curriculum, and both ELA and ELL instructors can recommend related Spanish texts to their students by referring to the Related Spanish Texts in the unit overviews in the curriculum.

“As part of our ongoing commitment to support the diversity of the student population, we are excited to expand StudySync's library offering to include these Spanish titles and translations. The continuous expansion of our library is enriched by the inclusion of these cultural works and authors,” said Robert Romano, Co-Founder and CEO of StudySync.

This robust offering of Spanish-language texts include novels, poems, short stories, drama, songs and informational texts with Lexile® levels ranging from 650L to 1640L. A sampling of these titles includes Mal de amores, “Los diminutivos,” El hombre que fue un mapa, “Los cuatro hijos de Ambrosio” and Maximiliano: o El desenlace de un imperio.

The 40 Spanish versions of English titles from the StudySync Library include novels, short stories and informational texts with Lexile® ranges from 700L to 1460L. A sampling of these titles include Don Quixote, “The Gettysburg Address,” Little Women, The Adventures of Tom Sawyer and “The Tell-Tale Heart.”

Additionally, StudySync now has published Spanish versions of a selection of Blasts. Blasts are short daily reading and writing assignments that allow students to express their opinions on high-interest current-event topics, sparking debate on a mediated, online social network. Users can locate the new Spanish language versions in the Blasts library by typing “Spanish” in the Blasts Search bar.

“StudySync’s library is ever-expanding, so we will be offering additional Spanish texts each month as we continue to develop resources to meet the needs of a diverse range of learners,” said Romano.
