SIIA Education Announces the New Vision K-20 Website and Launch of the 2013 Survey

In conjunction with Digital Learning Day, SIIA announces the opening of its sixth annual Vision K-20 Survey and newly revamped Vision K-20 website. Sponsored by the Education Division of SIIA, the Vision K-20 Survey gives educators, administrators, and faculty members from K-12 and postsecondary educational institutions the opportunity to evaluate their current technology and compare it to prior results in a short online survey. SIIA member organizations worked together to develop the Vision K-20 initiative as a guide for educational institutions to implement technology district-wide and campus-wide.The release of the new Vision K-20 website provides new resources and materials for educators and industry professionals. Educators can use the resources section to help their institutions achieve Vision K-20 goals.

Vision K-20 Survey will measure classroom, school, campus, district, and state progress toward achieving the SIIA Vision for K-20 Education

Washington, D.C. (Feb. 6, 2013) – In conjunction with Digital Learning Day, the Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) announces the opening of its sixth annual Vision K-20 Survey and newly revamped Vision K-20 website. Sponsored by the Education Division of SIIA, the Vision K-20 Survey gives educators, administrators, and faculty members from K-12 and postsecondary educational institutions the opportunity to evaluate their current technology and compare it to prior results in a short online survey. SIIA member organizations worked together to develop the Vision K-20 initiative as a guide for educational institutions to implement technology district-wide and campus-wide.

The release of the new Vision K-20 website provides new resources and materials for educators and industry professionals. Visit the new site to see studies that support vision goals and provide valuable education technology information. Educators can use the resources section to help their institutions achieve Vision K-20 goals.

“We’re excited to launch the sixth annual survey and new-and-improved website with additional information for both educators and industry professionals,” said Karen Billings, vice president of the SIIA Education Division. “With the ed tech industry becoming increasingly global, we are also pleased to announce that this will be first year to include responses from outside the U.S.”

For more information on Vision K-20, and to take the survey, visit the new website. Initial aggregated results will be released at the 2013 Ed Tech Industry Summit (ETIS) in May, with a final report released at the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) annual conference in June.

The Software & Information Industry Association (SIIA) released the full report from the 2013 Vision K-20 Survey, its sixth annual national survey to measure U.S. educational institutions' self-reported progress toward building a framework that embraces technology and e-learning. SIIA presented the results during the ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) Conference in San Antonio. The comprehensive report surveyed nearly 1,500 educators and education administrators. The preliminary findings were first presented at the Ed Tech Industry Summit in May.

SIIA Releases 2015 Vision K-20 Educator Survey Report

Washington, DC (June 30, 2015) – The Education Technology Industry Network (ETIN) of SIIA today released the 2015 Vision K-20 Survey Report, its eighth annual national survey measuring U.S. educational institutions’ self-reported progress toward technology and e-learning adoption. The findings were released at the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE) conference. The survey finds that K-20 education institutions are making slow but steady progress toward reaching their instructional and operational goals through the use of technology, including increased use of student data.

While past Vision K-20 Surveys provided educators, administrators and faculty members from K-12 and higher educational institutions the opportunity to evaluate their levels of technology integration across a number of educational technology applications, the 2016 survey is focused entirely on online professional learning.

The report suggests that K-20 education institutions are striving for more digital educational goals, which are increasingly reached through Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) policies.
