New integration will enable educators to deepen differentiated instruction through MAP® Informed Learning Paths, which support and strengthen the skills required for college and career readiness.

Lakewood, NJ – March 20, 2014 –Achieve3000®, the leader in online differentiated instruction, and the Northwest Evaluation Association™ (NWEA™), the pioneer in adaptive assessment that measures student growth independent of grade, today announced the creation of a new integration, launching July, 2014 for the 2014-2015 school year.

The integration combines reliable, accurate data from the Measures of Academic Progress® (MAP) assessment to generate a MAP Informed Learning Path (ILP)for students in grades 2-12 using the Achieve3000 online literacy solutions. Teachers can personalize the ILPs by providing each student with a customized set of lessons to develop his or her skills. It gives educators the best of both worlds – a proven assessment tool and targeted, differentiated instruction to improve student performance.

“Our partnership with NWEA is an exciting, new way to help teachers measure progress and for students to make gains toward the new rigors required in today’s classrooms,” said Saki Dodelson, CEO and Founder of Achieve3000. “We are delighted to have a partner aligned with our mission to give all students innovative tools that put them on the accelerated path to college and career readiness.”

To integrate assessment with instruction, Achieve3000 will import school data from MAP tests and generate performance reports for each student and class. Teachers will have access to information about individual student scores and the informational text goals addressed in Achieve3000. The program will assign an ILP to each student based on his or her scores. To support teacher’s effective use of MAP data, Achieve3000 has created Teacher Recommendations to help teachers differentiate instruction of key skills and concepts across RIT bands.

Matt Chapman, President and CEO of NWEA, said, “This integration optimizes the learning experience for students by allowing educators to better respond to individual needs with targeted instruction. It’s a partnership that fits perfectly with the NWEA mission – Partnering to help all kids learn® – and furthers our goal of increasing student growth through a personalized academic experience.”

The partnership with NWEA creates a powerful tool that will support teachers and accelerate student achievement. It is ideal for schools and districts implementing a Response to Intervention (RtI) plan, since the National Center for RtI recognizes MAP as a universal screener.
