Ed-Tech Industry Leader Will Help Guide Award-Winning Adaptive Learning Provider
NEW YORK – Feb. 27, 2014 --LearnBop today announced the appointment of Jim Behnke as a strategic advisor as the company’s Common Core middle school mathematics program continues to build momentum in schools around the country.
According to LearnBop CEO and Founder, Bharanidharan Rajakumar, “This is critical time in our development as we navigate an array of opportunities for strategic partnerships and scale up our technology to support the many schools transitioning from pilots to day-to-day use. Jim brings tremendous experience and expertise to LearnBop as we move into our next phase as a company.”
Behnke was Executive Vice President/Chief Learning Officer at Pearson from 2006 through 2012, where he was instrumental in directing product strategy and product development for programs such as the MyLabs/Mastering, was used by more than 12 million post-secondary students in 2013. At Pearson, he was also oversaw all customer-facing learning technologies for US K12 and international higher education. Before Pearson acquired his start-up, Peregrine Publishers, in 1998, Behnke had already established a distinguished track record as a product innovator and academic publisher in the STEM fields.
“There is widespread agreement that adaptive learning technologies will play a central role in education over the next decade and there are many different approaches to addressing this opportunity,” Behnke said. ”What impresses me most about LearnBop’s approach is the virtuous cycle between content development and the capabilities of its platform, which simulates a Socratic dialog between an individual student and a personal tutor.”
