In addition, participants who met or exceeded their fundraising goal by May 31, 2013, were given a second entry to double their chances of winning. Of the more than 364 FundingFactory participants who set a fundraising goal during the promotional period, and 38 participants who met or surpassed their goal, the Immanuel Christian School Parent Teacher Organization of Steens, Miss., won the coveted classroom technology.

Mississippi School Earns Portable Interactive Whiteboard Technology to Supplement Classroom Learning Activities

ERIE, Pa. (June 18, 2013)— FundingFactory, the largest recycling fundraiser, in partnership with Learning Resources®, a leading global manufacturer of educational products, helped one Mississippi school earn leading classroom technology through the Set a Goal, Win a now!Board™ giveaway.

FundingFactory participants who set a fundraising goal and created a public webpage at FundingFactory.com between Sept. 1, 2012 and Oct. 31, 2012 were automatically entered to win now!Board Portable Interactive Whiteboard Technology. In addition, participants who met or exceeded their fundraising goal by May 31, 2013, were given a second entry to double their chances of winning.

Of the more than 364 FundingFactory participants who set a fundraising goal during the promotional period, and 38 participants who met or exceeded their goal, FundingFactory and Learning Resources are happy to announce that, through a random drawing of qualified participants, the Immanuel Christian School Parent Teacher Organization of Steens, Miss., is the now!Board winner. The PTO raised $535.48, exceeding its original goal of $500.

“This is my first year running FundingFactory at the school, so to begin by winning the now!Board has been the icing on the cake,” said Deborah Campbell, former Immanuel Christian teacher and current PTO member. “I am a firm believer in recycling anything and everything we can, and FundingFactory is important to our society because it provides an opportunity to teach our children about recycling and its greater significance. It’s great that through this program we can put something back into our school. The now!Board will be used as part of the school’s Mobile Unit, where teachers can rent tech equipment for their classrooms.”

FundingFactory and Scholastic Announce “Go Green” Sweepstakes Winner

FundingFactory, the nation’s largest fundraising by recycling program for schools and nonprofits, together with Scholastic, announce the winner of the “Go Green” Sweepstakes. Susan Jones of Yucaipa Christian School in Yucaipa, Calif. is the recipient of the $5,000 prize, and plans to use the money to expand the school’s green initiatives, such as restoring and protecting the historic land where the school resides. More than 1,400 educators throughout the country entered for a chance to win the sweepstakes by explaining ways they would use the money to support eco-friendly programs and practices at their school. FundingFactory Announces Second Annual ‘Recycling Rumble’ Winners

FundingFactory, the nation’s largest fundraising by recycling program for schools and nonprofits, announces the winners of the second annual ‘Recycling Rumble’. 537 winning schools and nonprofits overcame their opponents in each rumble match-up where they competed for two months to recycle the largest quantity of electronic waste (e-waste). The winning schools and nonprofits earned a 25 percent fundraising bonus, and the top recycler overall won an Apple® iPad®. This year’s top recycler was Manteca High School of Manteca, Calif., recycling 6,535 items and earning more than $3,200. In total, Recycling Rumble participants raised $148,305 and recycled a total of 217,524 items.

FundingFactory Announces Launch of COLLECTED

FundingFactory Supports School Technology End-of-Life Management Plans

According to a 2012 survey of FundingFactory participants, 60 percent of school technology coordinators do not have an end-of-life management plan for tablets or mobile devices being used in the school. Even more, it is estimated that approximately 70 percent of mobile devices used in classrooms across the country will only last between two and five years. FundingFactory, the nation's largest fundraising by recycling program for schools and nonprofits, urges school technology staff members to take the lead within their districts, and set an example for students and the community, by establishing an end-of-life management plan for technology.

FundingFactory Honors America Recycles Day Through ‘Care2Collect Just 1’ Drive

In recognition of America Recycles Day, November 15, FundingFactory is sponsoring the “Care2Collect Just 1” campaign to help schools, nonprofits and businesses in protecting the environment while supporting their local communities. Participants are encouraged to recycle one e-waste item through FundingFactory, and donate one non-perishable food item to their local food bank.  For every 100 recyclable items collected, FundingFactory will donate $1 to Second Harvest Food Bank with the goal of raising more than $3,000. Additionally, the free recycling fundraiser aims to raise awareness for America Recycles Day by collecting and recycling more than 300,000 recyclables by the end of November.

FundingFactory and Scholastic Help Schools Turn Trash into Cash

Together, FundingFactory and Scholastic are launching a new green initiative to raise awareness about the importance of recycling e-waste.  To kick off FundingFactory’s green initiative, educators will have a chance to win $5,000 in the “Go Green” Sweepstakes, which can be used to improve their school’s environmental sustainability efforts or for other initiatives.
