RANCHO CORDOVA, Calif. – June 11, 2012 – Today Pearson (NYSE:PSO) announced that Newton Public Schools, NJ, has selected Pearson’s Schoolnet for PowerSchool as its new web-based Instructional Management System (IMS). Pearson’s Schoolnet for PowerSchool will serve Newton’s more than 1,550 students, increasing the flow of information between schools, staff, parents, and students.

Newton School District selected Schoolnet for PowerSchool based on its comprehensive tools to manage student data, build and deliver assessments and lesson plans, and report on student achievement.

Without having the resources for add-on applications requiring costly technical support, we still need to be able to analyze student data, improve curricular delivery, design standards-based assessments, and communicate results in real time.
