The AtlasIED IPX family is an IP-based series of endpoints featuring built-in loudspeakers, microphones, and displays, providing audio communications and visual text to support a range of facilities. The IPX family integrates with Singlewire InformaCast alert software to provide customers with an enhanced emergency communications solution. With advanced emergency notification features, this power couple delivers audible and visual alerts to on-premise and mobile devices, ensuring that information concerning lockdowns, evacuations, intruders, active shooters, severe weather, and other critical situations reaches everyone quickly and reliably.

AtlasIED’s IPX family leverages existing IP network infrastructure to enhance physical security while improving day-to-day communications through advanced alerting and pre-recorded and scheduled announcements.

The IPX Series provides a comprehensive mass communications system for educational environments, including wearable panic buttons and robust loudspeaker solutions for entire school districts.

Flexibility, In Both Placement and Function

IPX Mass notification IP endpoints include loudspeakers, intercom panels, paging adapters for interfacing with legacy analog systems, and audio bridges for converting analog audio signals to digital and vice versa for network routing. Originally introduced as tools for emergency alerts, today’s mass notification IP-enabled devices have evolved into robust, multifunctional AV communication platforms driven by the increasing demands of integrators and end users.

Mass notification IP endpoints were developed for high-quality voice communications, whether live or pre-recorded. Modern mass notification IP endpoints include additional functionality, such as two-way communication (built-in mic); LCD displays for a time clock, scrolling text, and ADA support; and LED flashers for visual cueing.

One of the core advantages of IP endpoints is their flexibility in placement and function. These devices can be installed virtually anywhere — from classrooms and reception desks to gymnasiums and factory floors — enabling instant access to emergency communication. This responsiveness is critical in today’s safety-conscious environment, where seconds can mean the difference between calm and chaos.

At Trinity Christian Academy in Texas, AtlasIED IPX endpoints with built-in speakers and displays were deployed across classrooms and hallways to replace outdated analog systems. By leveraging existing infrastructure, TCA reduced installation costs and added scalability for future expansion. The solution also incorporated IP-to-analog gateways, allowing seamless integration with legacy equipment and new outdoor horns. Staff and students benefit from improved clarity, modernized devices, and a user-friendly interface, while administrators gain peace of mind knowing the entire campus is connected and secure.

“AtlasIED provided solutions that worked well in the new building as well as with the existing combination of technologies,” said James Burrows, AV Manager at Superior Fiber and Data Services, who designed the school’s communication system. “Now, TCA has a robust system that can grow with them over time as the school’s needs evolve. We wouldn't have been successful without AtlasIED’s help.”

A Safer, More Organized Learning Environment

What makes AtlasIED’s IPX family unique is its ability to deliver a truly comprehensive, scalable, and interoperable communications solution over existing IP infrastructure. Unlike traditional paging or clock systems, IPX endpoints integrate loudspeakers, microphones, and displays into a single device, providing both audible and visual messaging to ensure accessibility and inclusivity for all students and staff.

Power over Ethernet simplifies deployment and reduces costs, while centralized management allows districts to unify communications across multiple campuses. This blend of flexibility, reliability, and forward-looking design makes the IPX family a unique and trusted solution for modern K–12 environments.

For administrators, The AtlasIED IPX family means less time spent troubleshooting outdated technology and more confidence that messages reach every classroom, hallway, and outdoor space instantly. For teachers, it provides clear and reliable communication without disruptions, ensuring that students never miss critical information.

By combining operational efficiency with life-safety capabilities, the IPX family provides educators with peace of mind, reduces their workload, and creates a safer, more organized learning environment.
