Mentoring Minds Names New CEO

BOSTON – March 7, 2018Mentoring Minds, national publisher of critical thinking–focused resources for K-12, announced on March 5 that Shad Madsen will assume the role of CEO effective immediately. Madsen succeeds current CEO and founder Michael Lujan, who will continue his role as chairman of the board.

“Shad is dedicated to Mentoring Minds’ mission of helping all kids become critical thinkers,” said Lujan. “Over the past four years as CFO, he’s gained a deep knowledge of our customers and our team, and he’s uniquely positioned to become Mentoring Minds’ next CEO.”

Madsen joined Mentoring Minds as CFO in 2013 and helped the regional publisher grow to become the nationally known, award-winning curriculum provider that it is today. Before joining Mentoring Minds, he held various roles at Sabre Inc and Boeing. Prior to his career in the private sector, Madsen served in the U.S. Army. He has an undergraduate degree from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a master’s of business administration from the University of Texas at Austin.
