Thanksgiving break fed the Tech&Learning newsfeed with interesting reading these past few days. The Washington Post details Maryland’s new partnership with IBM: “Under the P-Tech (Pathways in Technology Early College High Schools) model, students spend six years navigating a high school and college curriculum tailored to prepare them for high-tech jobs.” Hechinger Report has good news out of Newark, NJ’s school district: “(the district) distributed about 12,500 digital devices last school year – 25 times the number of computers previously available for classroom use.” If you do the math, that was 500 devices for 37,500 students! And finally CNBC reports on the startup Aliim, which wants to equip Syrian refuge students with mobile phones for study. —Kevin Hogan, Content Director
