Today's Newsletter: How Will You Celebrate Computer Science Education Week?

How will you celebrate next week’s Computer Science Education Week, the annual program dedicated to inspiring K-12 students to take an interest in computer science? There are plenty of resources to help. Microsoft and Code.org unveiled the Minecraft Hour of Code Designer, a free tutorial that uses the Minecraft environment to teach computer science and coding skills. Seesaw will be offering live webinars, an interactive Seesaw class, and offline design projects to show students how coding and design thinking come together to build a tool they use in their classroom. Nepris will offer eight sessions with professionals from AT&T, Makey Makey, and Sphero who will discuss topics like robotics and computer science. Of course, you can teach an Hour of Code anytime—there are plenty of free resources here. No experience needed! – Christine Weiser, Executive Editor
