In a way that spins the heads of even the most fluid of my colleagues, the rules continue to change in education. It is like the perfect storm of systemic financial concerns, the accountability movement, and the end of the NCLB era where everyone needs to be meeting standards.

In a way that spins the heads of even the most fluid of my colleagues, the rules continue to change in education. To use the aging analogy of changing a tire on the moving car may not embrace the magnitude of change going on in education right now. Right now the entire highway is moving. It is like the perfect storm of systemic financial concerns, the accountability movement, and the end of the NCLB era where everyone, including our special needs students needs, to be meeting standards. Ed Week is showcasing the changes to Louisiana law which may undercut the role of the school boards in that state. Workshops and conferences were how people learned and networked but in this changing landscape social media is offered up as the professional development solution for the future. Meanwhile I still have many staff members who have never used Twitter or Facebook. I do believe the road is moving. Hang on tight.
