TeacherLists announces St. John Brebeuf School in Niles, Ill. as the winner of the 2015 ‘Schools Work Smarter’ sweepstakes. St. John Brebeuf School was selected out of 500 schools to receive a $5,000 prize to help fund a 1:1 technology initiative in the 2015-2016 school year.

St. John Brebeuf School piloted a 1:1 Chromebook initiative last year that provided 60 tablets and 60 Chromebook laptops for students to use for lessons and educational games. The goal of the three-year program is to familiarize students with technology and the positive role it can have in their learning.

For the chance to win, an educator, school or office administrator, or a school volunteer must upload or update their school’s 2015-2016 school supply lists on TeacherLists.com, and then add the link provided by TeacherLists to the school’s website.

Winners of the Healthy Playground Makeover Sweepstakes Announced

The Healthy Weight Commitment Foundation (HWCF) and Discovery Education, in partnership with Sports Authority and Playworld Systems, today announced the winners of the annual Healthy Playground Makeover Sweepstakes.   Awarding $100,000 in prizes to schools across the country, the sweepstakes is part of EnergyBalance101.com, a website that provides free energy balance curriculum to teachers, parents, administrators and school nurses.  

FundingFactory and Scholastic Announce “Go Green” Sweepstakes Winner

FundingFactory, the nation’s largest fundraising by recycling program for schools and nonprofits, together with Scholastic, announce the winner of the “Go Green” Sweepstakes. Susan Jones of Yucaipa Christian School in Yucaipa, Calif. is the recipient of the $5,000 prize, and plans to use the money to expand the school’s green initiatives, such as restoring and protecting the historic land where the school resides.
