Reader Aims to Streamline Online Reading

Start-up Beeline Reader aims to make online reading faster and easier by using a color gradient that guides readers’ eyes from the end of one line to the beginning of the next.

In the San Bernardino City Unified School District, general education primary-grade students reading with BeeLine’s color gradients outperformed by 75 percent students in a control group. And in a study with Bookshare, the world's largest accessible online library for people with print disabilities, 86 percent of mentors reported that all or most of their students performed better with Beeline Reader than without.

Beeline Reader has won the Stanford Social Entrepreneurship Challenge, the Dell SF Ed Tech Start Up Competition, and the $50,000 Tech Awards Education Prize, given by the Tech Museum of Innovation in San Jose, CA.
