Welcome to the October 2026 Edtech Show & Tell, in which our editors share some of the new edtech products that have caught our attention this month. These are not reviews or endorsements, but a showcase of education-friendly items, platforms, and more that we think might be noteworthy for you.

This month's new offerings include new virtual and augmented reality solutions for history, math and language; clearer classroom sound technology; a free K-5 digital literacy resource with no advertising, and much more.


Avantis Education | Eduverse+ New Math and Language Learning Experiences

Avantis Education, creator of ClassVR virtual and augmented reality (VR/AR) solution, has expanded its Eduverse+ platform with two new immersive learning libraries for math and English/Spanish language: EscapeRooms and LingoLab. Designed for use with ClassVR headsets, these suites provide immersive experiences designed to support a broad range of curriculum areas and learning needs.

With more than 500 STEM experiences and unlimited creation opportunities, it supports hands-on learning across biology, chemistry, physics, engineering & technology, and computing. EduverseSTEM also includes modules that support project-based learning.


Captivate | CP-PVOT-C1622 AI dual-lens camera

Captivate today announced the CP-PVOT-C1622, a 4K AI dual-lens camera built for conference rooms, training facilities, classrooms, and streaming setups. The camera pairs an 8 MP PTZ main lens with 3x optical zoom against a 2 MP panoramic lens covering 120 degrees, so AI tracking modes can frame the room and follow whoever is speaking without an operator at the controls.


Common Sense Media | Tech in Schools Toolkit

Designed to establish evidence-based best practices for kids, the Tech in Schools Toolkit is a collection of free resources to support families, educators, and district leaders in making appropriate decisions about classroom technology use. The toolkit includes resources tailored to the needs of teachers, including templates and presentations to drive effective communication around tech with families.


Cyark | Tapestry

Tapestry helps students explore history and heritage through photorealistic 3D environments, with more than 70 experiences ranging from the George Wythe House at Colonial Williamsburg and Cliff Palace at Mesa Verde to the Great Mosque of Djenné, Mount Rushmore, and humanity’s legacy on the Moon. Tapestry connects historical narrative, archival material, oral testimony, photographs, video, and other evidence to the 3D environment.


Coursera | New partners and certificates

Coursera has added 17 new university and industry partners, more than 5,000 new Udemy instructors, and more than 20 new professional certificates, alongside new specializations and courses. Coursera’s micro-credential catalog has grown 90% to more than 3,000 programs. New partners include Asana, Harvard Business School, GitHub, Perplexity, Texas State University and the American Medical Association.


Edlio | Edlio Accessible Documents

As schools and districts work to improve digital accessibility ahead of upcoming ADA Title II deadlines, PDFs have posed a challenge, as they are not easily remediated. Edlio Accessible Documents improves PDF accessibility in multiple ways, creating HTML versions of each document while also providing tools to remediate the original PDF.


iCEV | Partnership with Simformotion LLC

iCEV, a leading provider of Career and Technical Education (CTE) solutions, has partnered with Simformotion LLC, the exclusive licensee of Caterpillar Inc.’s heavy equipment simulator training, to make it easier for learners to earn heavy equipment operator credentials. The partnership will create a path from training to credential for students, career and technical education programs, and workforce training providers.


IXL | LevelUp Diagnostic Snapshot

IXL's LevelUp Snapshot is a new type of assessment window that gives administrators a quick read on student performance in as little as 15 minutes. LevelUp Snapshot delivers interim data that districts can use to track growth over time, compare performance across schools and classrooms, and monitor trends between major assessment windows.


Learning Commons | Learning Commons

Learning Commons' platform give education technology organizations access to the datasets, evaluations, and instructional workflows that ground AI in learning science. Canva Education, Level, MagicSchool, OKO Labs, Really Great Reading, and TalkingPoints also announced that they are integrating Learning Commons into their platforms, adding to existing collaborations with Anthropic and OpenAI.

Panopto has launched new capabilities designed to make trusted video knowledge easier to find, learn from, and use in education. Folio turns trusted content into study guides, flashcards, practice quizzes, and AI tutoring, while MCP Server securely connects Panopto knowledge with approved AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Microsoft 365 Copilot while preserving existing permissions and controls.

The new OnAir headset platform is a family of professional intercom headsets for broadcast, live entertainment, sports, and other live production applications. The platform includes the OnAir 200, 400, and 500 Series, covering applications from lightweight single-ear communication to dual-ear headsets for high-noise environments. Riedel developed the OnAir platform with a focus on speech intelligibility, ergonomics, integration, and serviceability.

SoundFlow is a classroom audio accessibility solution that brings clearer, more flexible sound to everyday instruction. Using Auracast technology, it creates a simple one-to-many audio broadcast from a SMART Board display to students’ compatible hearing aids, earbuds, headphones, personal listening devices or speakers. This gives students clearer access to lesson audio from anywhere in the room.


TypeTastic | Ad-Free K-5 Digital Literacy Curriculum

TypeTastic.com has relaunched as a broader K-5 digital literacy resource. Alongside typing, it now covers digital citizenship, digital literacy and computer science for K-5, plus AI literacy lessons for grades 3-5. The site is free and ad-free, with no login required, so a teacher can open a lesson and start.

The new AI zyBook is intended for upper-level computer science, data science, engineering, and other technical majors, designed to give them the real-world experience and practical skill set that AI-related jobs now demand, including emerging roles such as AI developer.


WordFlight® | Fluency Kit
