The most notable first outcome of recent school threats is that more and more schools are installing panic buttons so that teachers can alert administrators when something is seriously amiss. 

In addition to dedicated panic buttons, Alertus has USB-based buttons that plug into a computer and can signal a problem that is reported to the school via the app’s notification screen.
