Absolute Softwareannounced today the launch of geofencing capabilities with its commercial line of Computrace products.

The geofencing capability now allows IT asset managers to safeguard their valuable mobile devices by setting up a virtual perimeter. If a mobile device leave the designated area, the IT asset manager will be alerted and can take the appropriate action, such as deleting data or reporting the device stolen. With Absolute Software’s geofencing capabilities, their customers can draw a geofence on a map, allowing them more flexibility in determining the virtual perimeter than just by entering zip codes or city names.
