New Technology More Accessible to Portland Schools

InFocus Corp. has partnered with the City of Portland to offer Portland area school districts access to new technology at a reduced price. The InFocus Mondopad, a 55-inch interactive touch screen computer, will be offered to K-12 schools at a $2,000 discount.

The InFocus Mondopad is a 55-inch multi-touch HD LCD display that offers video conferencing, digital annotation, interactive whiteboard and Web browser as well as inputs for devices like a DVD player and document camera.

Touch-screen technology allows students and teachers to manipulate content and lessons together, from reviewing and annotating documents to illustrating and practicing concepts. The built-in video conferencing allows teachers to bring in speakers from around the globe for guest lectures and conversations that would otherwise not have been possible.

Earlier this year, the Mondopad was named "Cool Product of the Year" at the 2012 Oregon TechAwards, hosted by TechAmerica Oregon, a regional division of the technology industry's leading trade association.

InFocus has reduced the price of the Mondopad to $4,000 exclusively for Portland area school districts. The discount also applies to any public or private entity purchasing a Mondopad as a charitable donation for any K-12 school or classroom within the district.

Any community group, business or individual interested in purchasing a Mondopad for a local school may contact one of two local reseller partners: Delta AV or Projectus.
