John Stockton, the superintendent of Acalanes Union High School District in California, will retire at the end of April. Replacing him will be John Nickerson, the associate superintendent for educational services. Nickerson took that job in July 2009, stepping in for Stockton when he became superintendent.
Stockton's retirement ends a nearly four-decade career in education, the past five with the Acalanes school district.
