Scott McNealy (born 1954), chairman and co-founder of Sun Microsystems, was an early advocate of the networked computer environment. McNealy, who also is chairman of Sun Federal Inc., helped set the industry agenda through his vision of network computing which has served as a guide and barometer for the direction and pace of technology innovation. The company is responsible for Java, the Solaris operating system and the Niagara computer chip. He is furthering his commitment to education by working with Curriki, a global education and learning community dedicated to delivering global access to knowledge.
