Tech & Learning got a sneak peek of what SMART would be unveiling at the upcoming FETC show in Booth #1401. Here’s a quick look:
--The new 600i SMART Board now supports both standard and wide-screen formats. The Board uses a SMART projector and comes with the same popular control panel.
--The SMART Table is now in Beta version, and SMART has targeted the interactive table for children ages 4-8. At $8,000, the price point is still high for education but SMART is working on subsequent models that will lower that price.
--The SMART Notebook SE (Student Edition) [www .smarttech.com] software for a USB silicon bracelet runs automatically from the bracelet, so there is no need to download or install Notebook on any computer. With 2 GB of space (120 MB of which is used by SMART Notebook SE), the bracelet makes it easy for students to take homework, digital texts, multimedia and other important information with them wherever they go. The USB bracelet and software are just $49 per student.
--SMART has combined their software into a Classroom suite, and will be makin g a major announcement on January 14 about a new software partner. Check back for details here.
