“As the use of technology in the classroom grows, schools need tools to help teachers get the most out of their technology while keeping students safe as they are using devices in the classroom,” said Richard Fuller, CEO of Impero Software. “Impero Education Pro does both of these. Version 6.3 provides improved cloud functionality by offering a hybrid-cloud model designed to give our customers the best of both worlds depending on their preferences and requirements. We are honored to be recognized with a Best of Show Award.”

Impero Education Pro alerts instructors or administrators if it detects students typing or searching certain keywords or phrases related to sexting, cyberbullying, radicalization, self-harm and more. It also provides classroom management and anonymous reporting features, as well as tools to help schools and IT departments manage multiple devices.

New features of Impero Education Pro (v6.3) include:

· An intuitive ‘enterprise console’ using cloud technology to help technical teams quickly and easily apply settings to multiple servers. This new functionality is particularly beneficial for organizations that serve multiple school districts.

· A web-based teacher console, providing a simple interface designed with teachers in mind. This new functionality offers a range of classroom control features and the ability to monitor multiple devices from a single web browser.

· Automatically updated keyword libraries, if desired, giving schools instant access to the latest versions. Impero’s keyword library now includes over 20,000 keywords, abbreviations, phrases and URLs, developed with organizations, such as the National Association of Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders (ANAD), the Anti-Bullying Alliance, and SafeBAE and using the Internet Watch Foundation’s illegal content list.

Tech & Learning’s TCEA Best of Show recognizes the products and services from TCEA exhibitors that show the greatest promise for educators. A panel of Tech & Learning advisors reviews and rates the products at the show to determine the winners.

In addition to providing software to schools, Impero is also supports for digital citizenship education in schools. It partnered with advocacy organizations to produce white papers at the 2017 and 2016 Digital Citizenship Summits. It also released an Online Safety Handbook in 2017 which provides resources and best practices for schools that are using Impero Education Pro. It released a video in 2017 highlighting the dangers of bullying and sexting, and how online monitoring software can help schools detect problems before they escalate.
