Reading Horizons Launches New Professional Development Podcast

(Salt Lake City, UT) May 16, 2018Reading Horizons, a leading provider of literacy solutions for the education market, today announced the launch of its new podcast with the apt name Podclassed. The podcast is hosted by Reading Horizons’ education specialist Laura Axtell, who explores current educational topics with distinguished educators and leaders whose practical solutions will improve the future of education. Podclassed focuses on sharing the perspectives of educational stakeholders to identify solutions to relevant issues on professional development. Episode one is the first of two parts covering teacher preparation for reading with guest Rob Rickenbrode, the senior managing director for the National Council on Teaching Quality.

Podclassed was created to be an easy-to-digest resource for today’s time-starved educators,” said Axtell. “Each episode is solution-oriented and will feature guests with extensive experience and expertise in their field.”

Guest: Dr. Rebecca Treiman, professor of child developmental psychology at Washington University in St. Louis

· June 26: “Is Response to Intervention (RTI) Really the Road to Improvement?”
Guests: Jim Wright, RTI consultant and founder of Intervention Central; and Dr. Douglas Fuchs, Nicholas Hobbs Chair in special education and human development in the Vanderbilt University Medical School Department of Special Education

The first episode of Podclassed is available on the iOS Podcast and Stitcher apps, with others to follow. Educators can subscribe at no cost, and listeners are invited to share teaching or learning experiences that offer an effective solution to an important issue in education.
