Building Big: Domes

Use this interactive site from the PBS program Building Big to learn all about the architectural peculiarities of domes. Domes have been constructed for hundreds of years and you can learn the basics of construction, as well as read about particular domes throughout the world. In the lab, you can experiment with the various kinds of materials used to make domes, and discover the pros and cons of each material. After you’ve learned all about domes, you can take the dome challenge and see how you do building domes in three different locations. Good luck.
