Make Your Own Temperature Scale

12/12/2013 10:00:00 AM
This experiment from Teach Engineering is a hands-on activity that allows students to make their own temperature scale before using that scale to measure temperatures in different places. It also shows how to convert Fahrenheit to Celsius, an appropriate activity because the Fahrenheit thermometer was invented in December, 1714. The instructions for students are clear and detailed. The plan includes motivation for the lesson, necessary vocabulary, materials needed for the experiment, and assessment criteria.
