On Tuesday, May 3, Discovery Education and Toyota will host an interactive virtual field trip that provides a behind-the-scenes look at Toyota Motor Manufacturing in Princeton. This virtual event will give students a look ‘under the hood’ at the careers offered in a manufacturing plant, as well as measures that go into safety and quality assurance.

Hosted by Cristy Lee, star of Velocity’s All Girls Garage, this live online broadcast will take viewers on a guided tour to learn about the latest in robotics, automotive safety and production innovation. Students will hear from experts such as Toyota engineers, production team members and executives. Classrooms will learn how Toyota is working with robotics and computers to increase auto safety, while exploring the test track, vehicle performance testing grounds, and body welding shop.

The virtual field trip is one component of Toyota and Discovery Education’s TeenDrive365: In School initiative, a comprehensive program offering a range of tools designed specifically for high school educators and teens.

Today,  Discovery Education and 3M announced the launch of the first Young Scientist Global Virtual Field Trip for kindergarten through eighth-grade classrooms with exclusive access to 3M Headquarters’ ‘World of Innovation’ in St. Paul, Minn.   Broadcast live on February 23, 2017, at 1 p.m. EST / 10 a.m. PST, classrooms can register to attend this unique event by visiting https://www.youngscientistlab.com/vft.  This Virtual Field Trip is part of the Discovery Education 3M Young Scientist Challenge, the nation’s premier competition recognizing scientific thinking and imagination in curious students in grades 5-8.
