Texting for learning

Chicago-based mobile-learning company Pocket Literacy Coach unveiled its new text messaging system for parents of two to 12 year olds.

A text message lesson is delivered to cell phones five times per week with a short learning activity that parents can use with children to help them build their emerging literacy skills. Based on research and years of experience, each mini-lesson is designed by a Ph.D. literacy scholar and team of expert teachers. The objective of the Pocket Literacy Coach program is to provide parents with creative and fun research-based lessons to use with their kids.
